View Full Version : Palm collectors out there?
Hi,
my first Palm (after countless other devices) was a Pilot 5000. Since then, I bought almost every Palm and never sold one....
Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only one collecting PDAs and/or Palms?
So....
Is there anybody out there? What are the pieces you're really proud of? Do you have any odd or rare Palms? Any Prototypes?
You can check my stuff here: http://blog.compuseum.de/?page_id=135 (German language...)

I have several old working Palm devices: m100, TungstenT2, TungstenT3. Incidentally, I'm in the process of stripping the T2 (software-wise) to hand it to my kids as a gaming/multimedia device. I also have a non-functional m515.

owl: Definitely not alone. I don't have that many just yet but I'm in the process, so far I got 2 Zire71, Tungsten T3, Handspring Visor Platinum and a Clie NR70V/U that am about to strip in order to make it work again (if possible). I also own -but these are on loan- a m515, a Tungsten E|2 and a Zire72.
Next on my buy list: Clie UX50, Clie TH55 and some greyscale Palms.
BTW You've got an amazing collection! I also own a REX3 and two REX 6000 units.

Perfect condition, with a PiTech CF card adapter, but without a cradle or any other means of charging it. Very elegant design

I think the original Pilot would be worth something.
Perfect condition, with a PiTech CF card adapter, but without a cradle or any other means of charging it. Very elegant design
Depends on the price and the color of the Visor. ;)

I've always thought I've had too many palms, but heck it's a hobby.
Current Collection:
palm professional with 2 meg upgrade and IR port, Palm Vx, Palm VIIx, Sony Clie n710c upgraded to n760c, Sony NX70V, Palm Zire 71, Palm Tungsten T3, Tapwave Zodiac 2 with game review card, Sony Clie TH55 (the fav!).
Plus three kinds of palm/sony keyboards. I've had other pdas too too, but this is the batch as it stands. Once I get a sony clie ux50, I think my collecting will end.
As a general rule I think Sony made better collectable pdas. Too bad the VZ never sold retail stateside.

I have a dead Zire Zire 71, and a functional Zire 72, Palm TX, and a QDA-700
Recently I managed to pickup the mint-condition QDA-700 for an very cheap price. I guess I'd consider that my rarest device, lol.

Actually I have given away my old Palms (mainly to nieces and nephews) with the express condition that they give it back to me when they no longer need it or if it is no longer working.
Just received Palm # 75 :D (A Clie NZ90 - but with broken camera :( )
Group pictures of all will be made this weekend ;)

Kinda off topic, but I was watching Charlies Angels the first one and they used a Visor to steal some info off the bad guys PDA lol.
I only started using Palm products a couple of years ago so my collection is just Treos.. (650 700 755 centro)

I got one of the only Palms worth keeping, the T|3 and I only used it for a brief amount of time sadly. It kinda just ended up in my possession.
I do wish I kept my m500 but I gave that away.
I found a near mint PalmPilot in eBay. I'm still on the look for for the Pilot. The very first one. :)

Owl (Oliver) is taking a break on his collecting. If you want to read his blog that is in German into English copy the Html address and go to Google search and they will show you a translation of that link and others connected with it.
Of course I found out by reading Tamspalm and have had some contact with owl.

I still own some Handspring deluxes (3), Palm M500 + keyboard, Palm M505, Palm Pilot, Palm professional, TG-50, Th-55, TJ-37 (very weak battery), S-360, Palm TX and generally will collect anything in Los Angeles.
