I don't use Linux (and have no intention of doing so either :D ), but I found two possible apps to suit your needs:
JPilot (http://www.jpilot.org/) and KPilot (http://pim.kde.org/components/kpilot.php) both of which claim to be Palm Desktop clones.

I would be interested in your findings if you do decide to try either of these ;)

I am making a few changes on my Eee (installing Ubuntu, overclocking, increasing the flash and a bunch of other stuff) and will install JPilot for sure (KPilot looks a little abandoned - I will look into it later)

I will post my comments in about 1 month

Linux is not easier than Win, and most of the good games are not supported, but it is a lot of fun

You can always put Mac OS X on the Eee ^_^ Then you could sync it through bluetooth.

But Sony gear works with it "out of the box" ;)

monkeyboy is right... except that I don't remember being able to use bluetooth to sync with sony gear... oh and i'm pretty sure sony dropped any and all support for it

J_F - Jpilot is alot nicer to use for syncing IMHO though I still haven't gotten bluetooth syncing set up, other then that it works really well over wifi, and usb and has plenty of plugin options
