So I've managed to take an LCD from a T3 and put it in my TX, works like a charm.

But now that I've taken apart my TX 2 or 3 times without the approtiate tools, the back panel screws are getting very hard to use. You can barely see the dents where the screw driver would sit, its just a hole.

Any idea where I could find replacement screws for my TX ?

Or is there any other Palm that uses the exact same screw set?

Thanks for your help.

Pascal

Buy a "junker" someplace.

This site (http://www.infosystemspro.net/) claims to have screws for Palms. I have had it bookmarked for some time, but I've never had occasion to use the information. I can't advise you about reliability.

Thanks Ferd, I've put in an order yesterday with the site you mentioned (about $8 CAD, with shipping)
So far the process seems very professional

Will update when I get them

Glad I even remembered I had the link! I have many bookmarks that I seldom use and surely some I have completely forgotten.

I'll be interested in your report.

Hey,

I actually found mine at Ace hardware. Size 0 machine screws @ 14 cents each. You can buy 10 at Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/Miniature-Stainless-Binding-Slotted-Machine/dp/B000FN8B6M/ref=sr_1_9/102-0192872-5295304?ie=UTF8&s=industrial&qid=1189385069&sr=1-9) for $1.40.

Hey,

Yes Ace is the place...just be sure to get screws with that have a flat head and no countersink. The ones that I bought had a countersink and the screw was not flush with the base of the screw hole...it stuck up a tiny bit, but not enough to stick out of the case.

If you are going to tell somebody what kind of screw you want you would NOT want to specify "flat head" for that IS the countersunk type of screw.

You would want to specify "pan head" or even "round head" (a bit taller than pan head).

It's been a while since I removed the screws on my TX, and I can take one out when I get home, but I remember them being Socket Head Cap Screws. I think Pan Head, Round Head, or even Fillister Head would fit into the countersink that is in the back of the case though.

Again, I can check this out when I go home tonight and post back.

@FerdFerd,

No mine were not torx, regular you can use an eyeglass screw screwdriver on them.

I received my screws from infosystempro, the week after, very well pacakged (in a tiny ziploc bag in a tiny paper envelope in a regular mail envelope.

They are not torx but regular screws that fit very well.

Pretty happy with my purchase, would recommend it
