I have just 70MB on my 2GB miniSD card which I put into an SD card adapter to copy onto my PC with an SD card reader and noticed the process took forever.
My card is marked is marked "ATP" but CardInfo lists the manufacturer as Unknown.
Anyone know if using the mini SD card in an adapter slows it down?

I have a 4 GB MicroSD with adapter in my Treo 680 and it works normal.

I just got the Transcend card reader which reads miniSD cards and the read time with this is much faster. So the problem is either with the adapter or the old card reader.

An adapter is just that, an adapter. Probably your old card reader is only USB1 and the new one USB2...

Both card readers are USB 2 and the old one works fine with regular SD cards. I'm not sure that the statement re: the adaptor is true, but I'm no expert.
A suggestion that it may not be true is a warning when upgrading the firmware with the mini card not to use a micro card in an adapter.

This suggests that a mini card is not the same as a micro card in a mini adapter, and by induction the mini in an SD adaptor may not be the same as an SD card.
Perhaps someone can comment on this.

Addendum: The mini SD card has 11 terminals and the SD card has 9. So there is more to the adaptor than a change in size.
