I've got this file on my NR70: AlbumDB that I can't get rid of. See, it's causing hotsync problems (hotsync just stops) and this file is listed in the hotsync logfile as being the culprit (see sample below). I've tried to delete with FileZ and that tells me it won't. Tried LauncherX's file manager, again won't go away. Tried ZLauncher's file manager, same result. Short of a hard reset and restore of my data, is there another way to get rid of this beast? What the heck is that file for anyway?

------ begin sample from hotsync log -----
WARNING: Unable to fully read handheld file: ZL_Black&White_SonyHR_64K (16385). It was NOT backed up. <-- This is a ZLauncher skin...
WARNING: BackupBuddy encountered an error while trying to backup handheld file ZL_Black&White_SonyHR_64K (16385). Handheld file was not backed up.
WARNING: Unable to open remote file: AlbumDB (268461072). Skipping.
BackupBuddy: connection lost while trying to backup AlbumDB.
------ end sample from hotsync log -----

Did you try MCFile? Go to properties for the file and uncheck everything, then try deleting it.

I wouldn't delete it if you don't know what it is for if I were you. I have the exact same problem. The AlbumDB is only 1KB. All I did was unchecked it off the backup list of BackupBuddy VFS and the problem was solved.

According to LeftOvers: AlbumDB's owner is 'MsaLib' with creator ID 'SIMa', and type 'albm'. I think it is some kind of library file. If you delete it, some apps that use it (my guess is PGPocket or PhotoStand) could start to act wierd. It would be like deleting MathLib and your calculator then starts to go wacky.

Is it locked? If it is, you can do a warm reset.

Press the press the reset button while holding down the scroll-up button until the Palm logo appears.

Run McFile or Filez and delete the file.

I use PGPocket and PhotoStand and don't have this file so you can assume it does not required by them.

Hmm, BTW, do you store pictures in DCF format, besides in PGP?

I always use DCF as this is JPG format and thus the file size is smaller.

That AlbumDB could be something else then. Shoot, what else could it be with that suggestive name? It so far has not bother me once I excluded it from BackupBuddy VFS scheduled backup list. HotSync and MSBackup restoring are fine with it.
