I'm in the 3rd week of a 5-week work project in Israel, and about 5 minutes ago, my T|X (which has been working flawlessly for years) just decided not to turn on anymore. I had it hooked to my computer by a power/Hotsync cable, so it shouldn't be out of power (and it was charged anyway), but it no longer responds to any button press, soft reset, hard reset attempt, or power button. Unfortunately, I don't have a cradle or cable-with-button with me, so I can't really tell if it's on but with a broken/malfunctioning screen, since I can't trigger a Hotsync. Any suggestions would be *truly* appreciated. {ProfJonathan}

Did you disconnect the Sync cable and try the buttons?

Also do you have an expansion card and did you try inserting the card, this may give it a kickstart.

Good luck :)

Oh yeah, do you have BrightnessFix or some other app that allows the screen to be 'turned off' or at least look that way.
If yes? try tapping where the StatusBar clock would be and push the 5WayRight.

Thanks for the suggestions, but I disconnected all cables and pushed buttons, popped out and reinserted the card, and don't have anything re: brightness.

I'm thinking this is it. Now, the only question is whether I get another T|X or try to get an iPhone. I'm thinking I'm still better off with the T|X.

Give it a bit more time.

Wait a few days until the battery goes completely dry and try charging it again.

Or, if have no problems opening it, open it up and disconnect the battery for a minute. You will need a soldering iron though, as there isn't a connector.

I would suggest disconnecting the battery. When one of my soldering experiments went wrong (oops) and the TX wouldn't come on, even after a week and recharges, I just disconnected the battery and reconnected it. I'm still using the TX.

If you don't have a soldering iron you can still take off the back and short the two battery wires together. This will cause the battery's built-in circuit breaker to open for a bit, then reset. This will have the same affect as disconnecting the battery.
