If u can find an NX60/NX70V at a price of around 400, I would probably recommend that.

Based on the little time i've used both in a store, I woudl recommend the Zire, esp. since it has a newer OS and is more set for the future (Some argue tho, that OS4 is more compatible at the moment).

the zire has better capabilities than sj33 in what i've heard, but the zire doesn't look very good (in my opinion) but it has excellent value

Hey, wait a minute... Since it's YOUR opinion, isn't it -- by definition -- already biased?

Personal perference obviously, but I think the SJ-33 is ugly, and the Zire 71 is sexy, but anyway...

The Zire 71 is obviously much higher end hardware, but I have a few caveats with it.

Here's my rundown:

Zire 71:
+ Larger, brighter, better screen
+ Fast ARM processor/OS 5 versus an old Dragonball-that mainly just gives the Zire video capabilities
+ Larger, more accurate Graffiti area.

But... the Zire 71 uses JOT (aka "Graffiti 2"), which is aweful compared to Graffiti-and there's no way to replace it (despite what people may tell you about Tealscript, it's not the same thing).
Also, a HUGE number of Zire 71's make a random soft poping sound when clicking (in addition to the system sound). We don't know if that's a hardware or OS problem, and it's honestly not a huge deal or anything.
Also, the Zire 71 can be turned on with the joystick (which can even alter data), making it quesntionalbe how portable the Zire is (there's a free program that's supposed to disable that, but I haven't personally tested it).

Sooooo... it's hard to say. I find the SJ22/33 have inaccurate graffiti, but then the Zire dosen't have Graffiti at all. Personally I'm not crazy about either of them, unfortunatly.

Okay

Lowest prices I found.

Clie SJ33 - $255
Zire 71 - $261

I suspect the Zire 71 will get cheaper as it is relatively new. I don't about the Zire 71 but the SJ33 seems much more portable than, for example, the NX60/ NX70V.

I still like the Zire71 over the SJ33. You get MUCH more bang for your buck!

I only wish the Zire71 were not "blue". Silver would have been nice. Black would have been nice. Why blue ???

:D :D :D

No brainer, Zire 71!  The camera isn't much, but I'm sure it's fun.  It sounds like it has very well integrated software for showing off pictures if that's important to you.

If you have a tall enoughf pocket, the NX is VERY portable, VERY thin(for its sise). I like big PDA's better because I know they are in my pocket.
Go for the NX-70V. There is also Hires+, wich is great for reading E-books.

I think the Z71 is more value for the buck.

I agree about the Z71 being a better value and I definitely second the opinion about it needing to be silver.

The Zire 71 does carry more value in terms of performance, but hell I hope Sony releases it's new TX series
