I've read that people are not to happy with Kinoma 4 on the TH55 but I'm looking for a MP4 player. Does it work well for that?
While I'm at it, does Pocket tunes work with TH55. (last I tried, the latest vesion didn't work and u couldn't get a lisc key for 3.1 which did work)
I have recently purchased Kinoma Player 4 EX and must say I am not very happy about it (I am glad I bought it while I was still eligible for a "secret discount" which cut down the price a bit). MP4 support seems to be very fussy about the kind of file to be played back and if you have a slow device, is painful to watch. The only thing it excels at is its capability of playing streaming video and Youtube content, not more. The User Interface is a disaster as well. Get TCPMP and a free encoder (such as PocketDivxEncoder).
As for Pocket Tunes, your question has already been answered here:

Hope this helps.

I'm glad I got Kinoma player at a discount. For recorded video, nothing beats TCPMP (see links in my signature line). Kinoma does a fair job of streaming audio and video and has nice search features for finding online media. I think it's the only podcatcher available for the PalmOS.

Go with TCPMP.
Kinoma had a lot of promise, but a borked user interface and a fussy design meant it was a chore to use.
TCPMP may not be as slick in presentation, but it does the job competently. I ended up with Coreplayer, which was nice upgrade on TCPMP at a cost.

Yeah, TCPMP is still great!
It's a pity they stabbed us in the back with the CorePlayer copy protection, or I would have gladly bought that.

I went with CorePlayer to stream Youtube videos. Also, since it was the son of TCPMP, I thought how could I go wrong, eh? I would like to see podcatcher options and play other online videos easily, though.
What is this "copy protection" you speak of?

Thanks for the suggetions. I tried TCPMP and was surpprised how easy it was to install and that it was a free app. It is very basic but does a great job. Thanks again.

Does the CorePlayer use the HHE engine? Also, what plugins does TCPMP need to play MP4 files?
How does the YouTube stuff work on the TH55?
The DVD Catalyst Free encoder has an option to encode iPhone MP4 file in full 320x480 mode and I would like to see of those will work on a TH55 via TCPMP.
