I'm new to this forum and hope you can help me with a problem. I have the Palm T/X and have been a long time user of the Palm Handheld and Desktop. Yesterday, after restarting my computer, all of my entries on my Palm Desktop Calendar, except for those that are recurring, were lost. I enter most of my information on my Desktop first and then sync to my handheld and it had been a few days since my last sync.
Any ideas on how this happened??? This is not the first time this has happened and I am now looking into also syncing my desktop with Google or Yahoo.
thanks for you help

What OS on your computer and which version of Palm Desktop are you using?
I have seen threads of this sort at Palm's Help Forums, so there might already be a solution there.

Thanks for responding. I'll check it out. Have you ever tried to sync your Palm desktop with Yahoo!?

No, I have not used Yahoo for much of anything. I would recommend a Google search on PalmOS sync with Yahoo to see what others have encountered.

You should first check to see whether your original file is still intact. The "prefs" may have defaulted and the Palm Desktop is looking at the wrong sub-folder. Try searching your desktop's c: drive for the Palm sub-folder named after your Palm ID, i.e. John Smith would be "SmithJ". If there are two folders under your Palm ID then one may be your old folder and the other the newly created one when the Palm prefs defaulted to the default location. Check the date on the "datebook" file. If it is different then the one in the default sub-folder, it may be the "correct" file. Cut and paste this file into the new default folder which the Palm Desktop is using.
Make sure that you make a copy of both folders elsewhere before you play around with their contents in case you make matters worse.
I know I've left lots of gaps but hopefully you can fill them in on your own as the process is relatively intuitive. Hope this helps.
