I used to use Backup Buddy VFS for my T615, but their website says the current version is not OS5 compatible. Any other free options to back up the TG50? How well does MS Backup work compared to Backup Buddy VFS?

MSBackup works fine. It has less features (can't schedule the backup or copy specific files). But it does copy the entire contents of RAM (not Flash!) to the MS - so it's simple.

Either way - in the event of a hard reset, restoring from MSBackup is straight forward too!

Cant backup buddy hotsync conduit backup user folders? Im not talking about backup VFs.

if it doesnt work on OS5 then how does everyone deal with fatal errors that needs hardreset?

Graph,

If I follow your Q.... I had to use BackUp Buddy earlier today, following a hard reset. I just changed all the hotsync settings to desktop overrides handheld, then hit the cradle hotsync button. Courtesy of BackUp Buddy's *complete* backup yesterday, I was back in business within minutes.

(But gees, how I miss the auto-scheduled wee-hour backups to expansion card via the VFS version.)

Bottom-line: VFS version doesn't like OS5, so for that, I use the built-in manual backup deal. Otherwise, all backups to the desktop are handled by BUB, as usual.

I use BackupMan to back up to MS and/or CF on my NX60.

I am using a BETA version of BB VSF for OS5 on my TG50, it was mailed to me by Blue Nomad. So far there have been no problems with the operation of the program and Blue Nomad have been very helpfull.

I am currently using CardBackup v2.0

It allows you to set up multiple backup schedules and allows full or partial restores. It has already save me once! Well worth the $11.95. Give the demo a try!

Gees, a huge thanks to the folks who posted about good results using BB/VFS with TG50. Frankly, when I saw the warnings posted at BlueNomad's site, I decided not to tempt fate and never even tried it.

by the way with BB VFS and Tg50:
After a hard reset when you restore the RAM you will get messages regarding the 68K files not being restored... don't worry about it, everything works normally once RAM is restored.....
