Hi All,

Is there anybody out there that can help me with my map finding problem?

I have the excellent Sony Clie SJ30 and need software that will enable the viewing of UK street maps on my trusty handheld.

If anyone can provide contact details of companies that develop and sell software which contains street maps of all (or most!) UK cities for the PalmOS, I would forever be in your debt (i.e. very grateful!).

Many Thanks.

PS: I've looked into the TomTom Europe software but sadly this is not comprehensive enough.

try mapopolis. The Maps can be downloaded on a County by County basis

I'm in the UK, travelling a lot with work and my SJ30 with Tom Tom's City Maps European. It's never failed to locate anything I need, both within the UK and abroad (except Ireland) and got me back on track when I got lost. I'm therefore a little perplexed about it not being comprehensive enough for you.

I have tried Mapopolis and hated it. The maps are huge and have to be transfered to internal memory to work. Not enough memory errors result and using MSMount caused it to crash.

Good Luck.

has anyone any experience with Digimap. The demo version looks really good. the map is clear to see and there are voice guided turn by turn instructions even on my OS4.1 NR70. But the demo version is only about 2 miles square. And I have no idea how large the full version maps will be. And I dont plan on spending the 200 Euros to find out it is a load of old crock.
Any advice would be most welcome.

I've been hoping to find the same thing. Tom Tom Europe sounds promising, from what Unregistered says, but am I right in thinking that GPS would also be needed?

Sorry, can't help re Digimap.

Carolyn I got a Gps kit off Ebay for £60.00 plus Vat which also included connection cable and charger for the Clie. Let me know if you want more info.
Tom Tom software is low res only and with no turn by turn directions.
I have had a play with the demo of Digimaps from Hekosoft. It is by far the best at giving directions even voice guided on a os 4 Clie. However the demo is only of your postal code area about 2km square. And worryingly it weants you to drive on the right. which really messes you up at roundabouts etc. I have mailed their support to see if the full version in England compatible. I recommend you check it out at http://www.hekosoft.de/digimap_en
