I recently downloaded A5. Initially it looks a little more useful than the standard calendar that come with my T/X, but I am becoming really confused how to use it. I have figured out how to enter new appointments, new tasks, and switch between the different view screens. But that is where the trouble starts. Once one of the screens, I see everything I have to do this week in a list, and at the right of the screen is a list of numbers 1-5. When I click on each number, the display changes. However, I cannot figure out what the difference is between some of the lists? I also cannot figure out how to customize each number to show a different thing. Is anyone able to explain this program in a simple manner, or provide me with a site to a manual or explanation.

Also, what is your favorite calendar?

Thanks

The #s are different views you assign. eg:

List #1 (Tap 1)
On the TopBar:
Choose Category: Work or Personal or All etc
Choose Event/ToDo: Event, ToDo etc or - (All)
Choose Priority: # or - (All)
Choose >= or < or - (All) Never used this one but I guess it lists in time.

Go to the
Menu>Options>List
and you will see it is the List is the # you selected. Set up how you want that List to look eg:
Type: 7 Days or Week etc
When done Tap OK.
Then Tap another # and set up that List view.

List # 1 eg:

Category: Work
Event/ToDo: - (All)
Priority: - (All)
Time: - (All)

Menu>Options>List
Type: Week
Undated ToDo items: Area
Empty Days: Off
etc

List # 2 eg:

Category: Personal
Event/ToDo: ToDo
Priority: - (All)
Time: - (All)

Menu>Options>List
Type: 7 Days
Undated ToDo items: Append
Empty Days: On
etc

List # 3 eg:

Category: All
Event/ToDo: Marked
Priority: - (All)
Time: - (All)

Menu>Options>List
Type: Long
Undated ToDo items: Append
Empty Days: Off
etc

Menu>Options>Actions>Grid>
Choose options for a Tap on different areas of the screen.
Clock: Chooses the list# that will be default when switching from Grid to List view

NOTE: I never sync but have read this advice:
If you set up an Event and change 'No Repeat' to 'Yearly' or whatever, do not select 'No End Date' It is best to end it say 5 or 10 years in the future and change it again then.
Apparently there can be a problem with the sync never ending

Keep playing with A5 and eventually you will get it just right.
Where did you download it from? The A5 website seems to be gone and I have only been able to find A5 @ Softpedia (handheld.softpedia.com/get/Business/Organizer/A5-9030.shtml)

A5 is fine for simple use but if your Calendar, Taks etc are very important then you are probably best to look at DateBk6 (www.pimlicosoftware.com)

All the best, woz of oz

Wozofoz, you once again come through for me. I began to play with it last night and was understanding the difference in the lists. Your explanation cleared it all up. Thanks again. I might look into Datebk, but, obviously, I am trying to find a great free option before I pay for anything.
