HotSync Name question

I never hotsynced so the hotsync name is now empty. some programs require a hotsync name for activation.

I know there are app's to even set a hotsync name per app, but I simply like to change the device hotsync name. My backup file doesn't contain a hotsync name yet.

Is there any way to set a hotsync name in my palm without hotsyncing?
When you make a backup the hotsync name is backed up too, witch file contains the hotsync name? can it be changed with rsrcedit?

I tried one name change app, and it said that it only works after an initial hotsync.

I used a freeware item called PalmName 3.0. I purchased a Palm M125 off ebay without cable for hotsync. I just wanted to add in my user name for my purchased software. It seems to work fine.
