Hi guys,

I have been using the CF driver with my NX for the past weeks without any problem.

Something just happened today :(

I umount the CF from my NX, took it out and inserted into a card reader so to transfer/delate some mp3 files.

After that, re-inserted into NX. Tried to mount the CF but everything an error msg appeared and I have to reset my NX.

Think it might not be the CF driver fault, I tried to read the CF from my card reader again. But this time, the CF card is unreadable. I can't see the CF card drive at all.

I guess it must have somehow corrupted during the file transfer.

Can anyone advise on how to solve the unreadable CF card problem. I don't mind losing all the data, all i wanted is that I could use the CF card again and not to trash it into my teash bin.

:(

cheers,
esc

You could try to use your reader/writer to reformat the CF card as FAT and see if that will be recognized by the CF driver.

I think I had the same thing happen to me a while back when I didn't allow enough time for the CF card to finish the file transfer from the PC (too quick to pull it out of the reader I guess) and I wound up with a corrupted card until I reformatted it.

Not sure if this applies in your case, but may be worth a try.

silver,

I did tried to reformat it. But the problem is that the card reader can't see the CF even when it was inserted.

The CF card drive should appear as H drive on my pc, when i tried to click on it...it prompted "Please insert media"

Hi esc,

Ooops, I blew right past the part in you first post about the card reader not even seeing the CF card.

Did you try another CF card in your reader (if you have one) to see it the PC can see that?

If not, and I hope I am not stating the obvious here :) , make sure that the CF card is properly seated in the reader. I have a 6 in 1 reader and if I don't get the CF inserted and seated correctly I get the same results as you indicated.

Well, if it did get toasted, I would try to contact the card manufacturer and see if you can get it replaced by them under warranty.

Worth a try and might save you some money.
