Pane for $00.00, or Datemate for $20.00? Hmmmm.......

I am trying to decide on whether I want to buy Datemate for $20.00, or if I should just stay with Pane which is free. The main difference for me is the nice colorful Hires interface of Datemate, or the free Hires (because of HrFontMapper) plain user interface of Pane, which is still very useful with certain useful features that Datemate lacks)? Which would you advise one to go with?

20 bucks for Datemate in my opinion is a bit expensive considering the simple app. Recommend you stay with the free one until something much better comes out.

Yeah, I think I'll stay with Pane. It works just as well as Datemate; and who the heck needs or wants the darn zodiac signs feature? I don't. It's a waste of space if you ask me. I sure don't believe in the zodiac anyway. I've also heard that the updates for Datemate aren't free. Is this true?
