He was correct. All of the palm apps on the disc can be installed from your mac just fine. You can't install the sony version of palm desktop though you need to download that from www.palm.com depending on the version of clie you have you may want to get the missing sync as well. www.markspace.com

If you have a memory stick, you can physically copy the prc files into the launcher folder on that stick. Failing that, use Missing Sync/Palm's hot sync. Just copy the apps you want onto the Mac's hard disk, double-click them to fire up the install portion of HotSync, and they'll be copied across at the next sync.

Ok, sorry about being a little harsh, but the mac is not magic, it can handle anything the pc can!

And to second the advice to buy Missing Sync. Even though you don't need it for clies to sync to palm desktop anymore, the software is worth it for the Memory Stick features/plugins it provides.

You can run the MS Import, and you get your MS in your clie to appear in iTunes, just like an ipod. You can copy over mp3s to play.

You also have the ability to export albums or pictures from iPhoto directly to PictureGear format onto the MS.

This alone beats Palm connectivity.

I just got my 128M memory stick today, and as you can tell, I'm very happy with it.

R2rush,

First, download Palm Desktop 4.1 for OS X (palm.com).

Then, from the Clie CD, any file with a PRC or PDB extension is double-clickable. Just choose the ones you want to install.

If you then cannot sync, then you may have a Clie model which requires MissingSync. Get this at markspace.com.

Once you're all set up, you may decide to replace Palm Desktop with another program, such as iCal (free, also requires free download of iSync) or Entourage (commercial--also best e-mail client for Mac).

Hope that helps,

elo

I would recommend The Missing Sync even if your particular model doesn't require it. Mounting the Memory Stick on your desktop is just phenominially useful.
