View Full Version : CF Driver and AcidImage

I am having an issue with viewing images in CF or MS when both stores are mounted.

If images are in MS, then CF have to be unmounted and vice versa.

I can view ALL images in any directory once. If I exit and return, AcidImage would freeze after scanning and loading the directories with images requiring a soft reset.

I then have to deleted AcidImage's Cache directory in order to view (once only) again.

Removing either card will allow AI to work. Anyone had this issue and know whether it is a bug in AI or CF drv?

Incidently, all other DBs worked flawlessly with the CFDrv including iSilo, TomeRaider, JFile, MSDict and Mid, all with huge databases.

I'm stumped! Appreciate if anyone can shed some light. My temp solution is to have all images in MS and unmount CF before launching AI :-(

Hmmm...

I have picture files on both, the CF and Memorystick,
and within Acidimage I can view every pic on both cards.
View a pic from Memstick, close it, view a pic from cf without
any problems within Acidimage. No freezing or softreset.
Havenīt tried it with the "trick.mode", but inserted Memstick
and mounted CF-Card work just fine....

Noh

Hi Kenny!

My findings concur with NOH's. I didn't want to say anything before. The reason is my use of a different driver version. AI has always worked well with both cards, although sometimes it's hard to ascertain which card if the folder names are the same. I can view the pics combined or independently, multiple times :)

I am experiencing the same thing with AI too in the trick mode sometimes. One thing that I tried was that it seems to work if I put the images into different directories on both cards - i.e. if you have images in identical paths, e.g. /palm/programs/images, AI will have problems loading from both cards. But, say if on MS you name it /palm/programs/imagesX instead, it seems to work... (at least for me it did).

oh, no problems when using either card on its own either.

hope this helps!

oh one more observation:

even after you moved the images from one card to the other, I think you need to delete the .thm files generate by AI (in the original folder)... what happened to me was that I had a /image folder on both cards (same path), and even after I moved everything from the MS's /image folder to the CF's /image folder, it still hung. It worked though, after I deleted the MS's /image folder along with the .thm files...

Kenny,

Which version of AI do you have, there was changes in v2.6a. There was some software clashes and I believe the thumbs had a name change which had to be done manually. It was not Image Converter friendly.

I haven't had any problems, but I pretty much moved all my pics over to CF, using the Memstick as DCIM storage. I will def doublecheck to make sure I don't have any duplicate folder paths!!!

I at one time had a problem with AcidImage. I discovered that it was due to moving files from MS to CF with the same name in the same directory. Apparently AI creates a cache file in the Palm/Programs/AcidImage subdirectory and it was not updated. I deleted the files in the Palm/Programs/AcidImage directory and it read the files without issue. So I think the problem is after you view a file on one media then move it to the same directory on another media AI will have a problem recognizing it. So check the Palm/Programs/AcidImage subdirectory on both media.

Hope this helps,
Jim

I only saw the problem in trick mode. And I think in does indeed have something to do with naming of the directories, I haven't tried changing the names yet.
