Hi there,
I was trying to replace my TX's screen the other day with my old T3's one but my attempt fell short because of the motherboard being really heavily fastened on the back of the LCD module by what appears to be really tight adhesive tape. The tape is quite thick too: I measured around 1mm, just enough to fill the gap between the LCD and the motherboard, and there are patches of it in 2-3 places. I've read and watched quite a few instructables where people change their Palm's digitizers and stuff and haven't come across this 'design' anywhere.
Has anyone had the same problem, and succeeded in detaching the motherboard? I'm afraid that I'll break the motherboard in half if I'll try to pry it off too heavily.
Additionally, I also noticed that compared to the T3, the TX screen has a thin (0.5mm) black rubber strip running around its frame. Could this be some sort of shock absorbing design or just a filler so that the screen would fit snugly?
Best regards,
Kimmo
