Let me start by saying I have used this forum to solve a number of problems on my TX, so thanks for all of the help.

That being said, I finally decided to join and post a couple of questions.

First: Shortly after purchasing my T/X, I developed Ipod Touch envy. I still think the T/X is better as a whole, but there are some things I want to change, and I wasn't sure if anyone could give me some ideas. Is there anything i can do with the web browser? I have tried Opera, and it freezes every time. I have also tried a couple of extras and they all crash. Anyone find anything other than Blazer that works?

Second: Why hasn't anyone created a touch interface similar to the Iphone? Sure, there are programs like touch launcher and touchbook, but what about a utility that makes the whole t/x finger friendly? Almost every other popular OS, like Windows Mobile and Symbian, have developed an iphone similar navigation utility, so where is Palm? Anyone know why independent software writers have failed to keep up to date?

Thanks

Use Picsel Browser (search). In the last 3 or so pages is a download link. VERY ipod touch like!

This is a bit hard. Only really Dmitry, pruss, and maybe MetaView even COULD, but none of them are (hint hint ;)).

Thanks for the Picsel Browser advice, but I am not sure if I am finding the right link. When I searched it, I found a number of different opinions and links for downloading different parts of the file and explanations requiring Maxx and something else. Was this what you were thinking?

the Palm platform is weak now. Developers are pressed to get the number of sales that used to come easily; but there is still a lot of good stuff out there that might make things better.

Good luck!,

Now that it has quickly gone fm 1.0 to 1.1, I can heartily recommend Apt as a great app that adds a lot of functionality- as well as ability to assign per-app preferences, 4 h/w button enhancements, NAV buttons assignments, tap/pen stroke triggering. Then there are the event based responses- i.e. launch apps on mounting memory cards, dimming the screen after x-amount of idle time.

Add in diff popup menus & macros... it is very robust.

Check it out at apt.dinglisch.net check out the Apt-Lite version, & the wiki on that site & see the examples & pics & tutorials & have fun!
