screen scratches

• when i got my clie back from sony repair i noticed graffiti area scratches

• since im not @fault for scratchz theyve agreed to replace the screen

• sony ph tech said the clie screen isnt glass but a glass/fiber mixture designed for 'tap recognition'

• i hate to be 'clie-less' for a wk(ha ha)but i want a perfect screen for my $775

•($560 clie + $8 s&h + $60 m stick + $100 4yr warnty + $17 iSilo + $30 missing sync = $775)

• ive since applied a small piece of pda screen protector over the graffiti area to prevent further scratchz- IT SUCKS!- it decreases image quality of full screen & clamshell views- but i dont wanna skuff up my screen

ALL screen protectors will decrease the optical quality of the viewing area. I use a Brando screen protector and even though the quality of the image is decreased, at least I know there won't be a scratch on the screen after a while since you get used to it.

The decision is up to you, whether you value your viewing quality or scratches on the screen.
Many have opted for sacrificing a bit of the viewing quality to save their screens (and it tends to get very noticable after a short time ... the scratches on the screen...)
