Under Preferences, Network: it shows Service, username, passwork, Connection and Phone. Does this mean I can purchase a modem and I can get on the net? Or am I mistaken for the use of this Preference? I'd appreciate any help I can get!
Thanks

I would say yes if you can find one. Additionally you might use a compatible cellular phone too.

You have two options that are immediately available to you:
1. Landline connection: You can use a Psion 56k IR Travel modem to connect. The modem connects to "the wall" like any other modem and communicates with your 665 via IR (so it will work with ANY PDA - even after you upgrade).
2. For wireless, The SupplyNet (www.thesupplynet.com (http://www.thesupplynet.com)) makes cables to connect to most of the widely used wireless phones allowing you a wireless Internet connection using your wireless phone, 665 and the cable.
I've used both options for years.
