Is a GPRS/Edge connection fast enough to stream radio on pocket tunes?

Yes, as long as the stream bitrate is lower than what your ISP gives you of speed. Otherwise the audio will get "chopped".

It depends on the provider, usually GPRS is from 40 to 90Kbps and Edge can go up to 100 to 190kbps. (These numbers are not exact and may vary with the regions you are, the cells traffic, etc.)

You can run a speed test entering in http://www.dslreports.com/mspeed

Try it twice and take note of your speed. Then open www.shoutcast.com and choose a radio with a lower bitrate than the speed you got in DSLReports. You should have no problem.
