problem by trying to make an image of my microdrive disk

Hallo I am new to forum and i need help with my LD.My microdrive is out of order and i tried to replace it with a CF card.The problem is that my USB card reader cannot read my Microdrive.it makes a strange noise when my card reader tries to read the microdrive.(same noise was heard by the last unsuccessable hard reset i tried to do in my lifedrive.)

Is there a way to make an image of my lifedrive??

Probably my LD microdrive is out of order.Is there any other way to install a CF card without the image of my defected microdrive...????

Thanks for the quick reply.I have to accept the fact that my microdrive is dead.Is there anyway that i can manage a CF installation without the need of my dead microdrive?
Do you know if i can find Palm OS software "preinstalled" CF cards in internet?

those are expensive
if you buy a DaneElec 4GB card
you can install palmos on it yourself
if you look in powerdrive thread, there is a link to a 26 or so MB file that has the image you need

I have already bought a Sandisk ultra II 4 GB card.I searched the powerdrive thread as you told me and i was redirected to the following adress: www.palmpowerups.com, where i found the powerdrive file as a featured software.
Is this the 26 or so MB file that you told me??Do I have to pay the 15 dollars or is it free also for downloading(it has an option also for downloading above the buy icon.Does this mean that you provide the file free or do i have to buy it in order to run?)
