Got a hint here I LUCKILY saved right before the board got wiped, can't remember who posted it but it is VERY good. ;)

Open the Prefs app. Select the Network panel. From the menu, choose Options->View Log. Tap in the text area and type "?", followed by a hard return.

You will see the following options

info
finger
nettrace
ping

Is good, yes? :D

Now for my plea for help, Using a Belkin Wireless Router with a 3 port LAN and WLAN, I can't get the Sony card to see it in Adhoc, it keeps on retrying (used matching name and channel). But in Infrastructure mode, with a manual IP address and Gateway set, it will connect, but WebproV says it cannot find the DNS server or (if I set it to the gateway IP) the Host address in preferences is incorrect. Since I cannot find out what the DNS server address is on the Router (waiting for email from Belkin tech support) but I have set it to the router address.

Anyone have similar problems they have fixed or any ideas?

If your going to a router, you do NOT want to use adhoc mode:)

The IP of the router portion, is the IP you would use to access it via your Internet Explorer web browser. The DNS's are from your ISP for the WLAN.

Additional info:

Wireless HotSync Info:

Listed below are some common problems and highlights:

(combined for future reference)

The primary pc name has to be !!(double exclamaition points) only!

Only works with the long preamble.

The Sony PEGA-WL100 is the ONLY card that works!

Use static/manual settings for IP and DNS addresses

Leave power save unchecked

Use infrastucture mode when on a LAN, even for the wireless HotSync

May not necessarily work on all Wireless Access Points, does work with Linksys, Dlink, Apple's Airport, and some others.

You can use an SSID of ANY.

Windows XP firewall can block a wireless HotSync.

First step is to get to connect with the LAN, then try to get the WAN side to work(gateway and DNS addressing)

Right click on the HotSync Manager Icon in the PC's system tray and select network as a valid HotSync method in addition to Local USB.

Lots of patience...

The following info was supplied by Xaositek:

network = ; wireless lan
go to details
if you havent added a profile do so now.

ProfileName: (whatever)
Network ID (SSID): Any (case sensitive)

Go to advanced setup and turn off "PowerSaveMode""

Go to your hotsync program
go to menu
"Modem Sync"
set to "Network"
under LANSync, make sure its set to LANSync

Primary PC Setup
Primary PC Name: !! ;-- another must have this way
Primary PC Address: (the IP address of the computer to hotsync too)
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0 (unless different from Admin)

Click ok

Go to the main hotsync screen
Click on the "Modem" box
then choice your network as "Wireless LAN"
DO NOT ENTER A PHONE NUMBER

Thanks Larry, changed the DNS numbers to my IP's, do you know what the default host address (Options | Preferences | Advanced) in Webpro is? I changed mine and it gives me the Host address in preferences is incorrect error. Other than that, it seems to be connecting - my cable modem flashes when I'm connecting.
