Dear 1src fellows, please take a minute to answer the following:

1.How many and which devices do you still own?

2.What do you use them for?

3. If someone gave to you an old Palm as a gift, which model would you prefer?

Show your love for those vintage devices we all came to love -and hate sometimes-!

1. Palm TX (First device was a Tungsten E which I tortured to destruction and learned my Lesson that Palm handhelds can become dead.)

2. Music, Documents, Feeds, Games, Movies, Experiments (which include making skins, programming and trying out pointless projection technology using mirrors and lenses)

3. Zire 31. I like the Blue color and its simplicity. Coupled with a good power button at the front and a screen which can't whine (Do STN LCDs whine?). It also looks quite compact and the plastic can resist more scratches. Shame they discontinued it, would have been better than a Z22 since it supports music playback.

Hi,

The Sony Th55 been long time discontinued but still does well in these polls, amazing.

I have and use one, even with being a ppc user most of the time.

Great design and combination of battery life and functionality made it ideal at the time.

Still, overall, the best Palm based pda made, imo.

Only limitation, was the gaming aspect but more than makes up for with the Sony exclusive software that is still ahead of it's time.

Biased, my opinion?

Sure, but most opinions are based on some kind of bias.

Hi,

Guess my post above was not really answering the question posed.

I own the following:

Sony T415, not currently used.

Sony T665, not currently used but for music and books occasionally.

Sony NX70v, belongs to the wife, not currently used.

Sony TH55, not used often but still the best Palm based pda.

Dell Axim x50V, primary pda, what is it not used for would be an easier question.

Hi:

In my family we have:
Three T/X palms
One Tungsten C

Today:
I had to take my son via pubic transportation to meeting at a school on an obscure side street. I read the news on AvantGo. I used my T/X to look up the address and map on Earthcomber, offline, with maps available for the entire U.S. by county. I looked up my son's social security number and took notes. Then we were off to the Cherry Blossom Festival in Japantown. While I was picking up mail at out Post Office Box, my son found a hot spot and looked up information on Wikipedia for a context he was entering. Later I used Vindigo to checkout possible movies, Avantgo to check out reviews. Nothing promising. On the way home, my wife read an article about Thomas Jefferson in Chinese, converted from Wikipedia to word and read in Mobi Office Suite.
I keep track of all of the computers where I work and all of the student passwords in Excel in MobiOffice Suite as well.

1)
1 m105 (never really used it)
1 Palm IIIc
1 Sony Clie NX80V
1 Palm T|X
2)
I only use the T|X now which I use for everything from Web to Documents over MP3 to PIM

3) Handspring Visor Prism
Sure, the IIIc was the first model with colour but the Prism did it right. Brilliant screen, more colours and springboard slot. I sooo wanted one but the IIIc was expensive enough as it was for a pupil.

I still own a t-615c, TG-50, th-55U, and TH-55E.

Use the TH-55E as my primary, for PIM project management as an enigneer.
The others PDA I use for entertainment, check the internet, games, e-reading, GPS, and music.
I would still prefer a TH-55E as a gift if one was offered.
