Initial battery charge

Hello. I have TG50, and I have a quick question. :)
Sony says I need to charge the batter for 4 to 5 hours when I open the box. Would it affect the batter life and performance if I use it before I charge it over 4 hours? (For instance, the battery doesn't last as it's supposed to be.)

Yes it does. Found that with a few things. One big long first charge.

What was the matter? Couldn't have a little patience?

Thats what is wrong with people these days, got no patience.

I can't wait for the TG-60. Its got 64mb and a better keyboard and a better screen and is smaller!
