View Full Version : Help! ScummVM 0.4.0 for Palm gives me fatal alert, now can't do anything! :(

I was playing around with ScummVM, and adding a game and I had the wrong directory and it gave me an error saying wrong directory, ok fine... but it rebooted by itself and now everytime it says: datamgrc... etc etc. Do you need the rest? I can do a warm reset, and then I removed all the scumm stuff but the problem still appears. I even tried removing the MS! HELP!!!! :(

oh, and one more thing. I have not DONE any HOTSYNC, so the good data is still on my PC... but I don't really want to restore from my last backup because of all the changes I made. Any other suggestions. I know it has to do with Scumm!

Try to "safe reset" your device, using the "UP" key and reset your device while it's pressed. When you see the Cli'e logo, release it.
Delete ScummVM from your device, and soft-reset it to load in normal mode.

I already did a warm reset and tried to delete everything related to ScummVM but the eerror still happends.

DataMgr.c, Line:9573, Index out of range :(

do a warm reset then hotsync, then reboot normally and it should be fine.

I had the same problem on my TG50. Only hard reset helped. Puh, I will make a backup to ms now every 2 hours ;)

yeah I had to restore from my backup too... the good thing was I just made one (after long time no backup) and right after I installed Scumm... so almost no lost, except for some reason I had to sort all my to-do's the rest was fine.

Woow, big problem.

golalmo advices you to do a reset with no extentions (up + reset)
did you try this or only did a soft reset ?

I did a soft reset, but I was not able to fix it from there, so now I had to restore my backup but now I don't get that error anymore.

"soft rest + up key" is not the same as "soft reset only".
THis problem is generally fixed using this method :

- soft reset (pin on the rear reset button) with up key pressed
- remove bad app (seems to be ScummVM)
- soft reset (only) the device
