I designed this CLIE in Photoshop 7 this morning and i tried to make it everything that i wanted in a PDA and what other people at CLIESOURCE seemed to want. (Other than YoYoYoo, who wants a thumboard......such a problem child)
Look here: http://www.cliesource.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=511
Any feedback or anything you want me to add feel free to post.

I could go for something like that. I like the T/TG form factor with the 320x480 screen. I guy can dream, right?

Good job, but I would suggest making the screen physically larger and making the D-Pad bigger. You made it look like a single button. Also, maybe add a side view for a CF hump? That would be the ultimate in my opinion.

Needs a built in camera like the Zire 71.

This is a photoshop job. He's not working for an advertising agency or anything... so don't expect too much....

hahahah yes I want a thumboard!
If sony came out with a nonclamshell virtual graffiti hi-res+ clie with a slide out thumbboard underneath (Nokia 8650 style) then that would be my perfect clie!
nice work with the photoshop!

You know what kind of clie i want? Think Tungsten form factor. When you pull down the bottem it revels the virtual graffit (and the rest of the screen). No keyboard of course because it seems useless to me. It would also have a CF slot and double MS, etc.

I would love a T-style device with a 320x480 screen, but I wish Sony would have the flip covers so they could flip all the way around. I'd even settle for a leather or plastic one, as long as it didn't have that Palm III style look to it.

Yes, I know. I was just making a few suggestions to make it look better. He did say:

I like the dents in the front, nice touch lol :D
I agree that the screen should be larger..and get rid of that horrible flip lid and the whole tg design altogether hehe ;)

I might as well give it a good ol' try, flash style.
http://twz.tk-design.net/tg665.html
Click the flip cover for it to go up and down. Click the Home button in the middle to reveal the thumbboard (which was badly copied from the tg50), click the thumbboard again to close it. Each time the thumbboard clicks in and out, it changes resolution.

Wow, what a great idea for intergrating the thumnboard. I like it.

as i said at the pic - good for v1.0.
agree with bigger 5-way
also, the gap from the scren to the buttons need to be less. otherwise this will be one tall baby with a 320x480 screen on it. think NX70 height + all that down there ....

true, but it's actually not that much bigger than an NX60/NX70V screen, it just adds a few buttons and a sliding keyboard which takes not space, also, it's a 9-way nav :D

I would always leave it slid open. When I'm not using the graffiti area, I'm using it to expand the application. I'd spend much less time with it closed than with it open. It just adds needless bulk to the unit. With the TT it makes sense since its only for graffiti input, which is rarer than just using the rest of the screen for something.

Wow you made the dpad and hardware buttons part of the screen? I would hate that.

No, I actually didn't, it's pull over keyboard and stuff. Also, how can a screen click in and out?

i was looking at the area between the buttons and the bottom of the screen. Ok, then. You know - i dont know why i am here - i like the idea but i dont want one. I like the clamshell design. Big? no way - go get a Satelite phone that only makes phone calls and then tell me the NX70 or even the NZ90 (pushing it :D) is big.

How can a screen click in and out? What? Sorry, but it looked like it was just an onscreen thumbboard. I couldnt tell that it was supposed to be hardware that was moving. It seems like a very awkward design though, having to slide the buttons up and then slide out the thumbboard. More moving parts than a TT too. I dont think sony is going to release a non-clamshell palm with VG and a thumbboard. Drop the thumbboard and its a possibility.
