I was wondering if there was an app that can do this? I know Ive seen one for the pda's but not the Treos.
I have a Treo 700 and like the way it was removed for the Centros.

Does your Treo have a PMSysLib or something close to that in RAM?
If it does, I'd say backup, and give Dmitry's frame T|X a try. It just calls a function in that library so it should be device independant if Palm did their jobs.

I tried once on my new Treo 680 and it did not work.

Thats the only one he made correct, and its on his site under experimental little apps or something like that?
If so I already tried and it didnt do anything on the Treo. :(

thats strange.... sounds like a palm, inc f*ckup imo
Try BlackBorder by Jason Robitaille. It is somewhat better then FrameTX which causes instabilities and lock-ups on some TX devices. Supposed to work on Zire 72 in some cases which also has a 320 x 320 screen.

Hope this helps

Be careful (from the site):
Update History
Version 1.1
-System files for non-TX/LifeDrive devices are now built-in
-Treo 650 is confirmed as NOT supported
-Inclusion list now added
Version 1.01
-Now works with some Zire 72 and Treo 650 devices
-Bug fixes
Version 1.0
-Initial release
Thank you for pointing that out, rossarnie. Do it at your own risk even if you have a treo 700 which *might* be supported.

Anyone have any ideas? It would be nice if it would use those 2 pixels to draw actual screen buttons/borders etc rather than just turn it black.

Although that seems simple, I remember reading Dmitry pointing out that it would require a whole revamp (in code) for the apps themselves (not on the device only), since apps are coded for 320 x 320 (or 320 x 480) only.

I guess all he wants is it to be black, not white.
not really understandable why palm made it to be white in the first place - it looks ugly, it drains the battery for lighting those useless pixels (ok, big deal), and it makes you see right away that those apps donīt make use of the whole screen. shouldīve been black right from the beginning...
does blackborder work on a treo 680 ? itīs not explicitly stated as not compatible, but you might guess itīs not if the treo650 isnīt ...
