Are they in the correct file on the memstick? They must be in programs/MSAudio . . . won't work anywhere else . . .

If you see them, they ARE in the correct folder. But like fjs said, they may be in Variable Bit Rate coded or- they are lower than 96kHz.In the English Version there is a patch available to solve this issue. Otherwise you need to decode it yourself and encod it in 'normal mode'. Consult your manual and your Sony support page.

Wondering if you solved this problem. I just noted the same thing happening on my NX-70. Have MP3 files on two different Memory Sticks. Last time I used them (maybe a month or two ago), they worked fine. Last weekend during a long flight, I decided to listen to some music, and although all files showed up on the Audio Player list, none played. The NX-70 seems to be trying to play them -- the play button (very slowly) turns to green, the memory stick light flashes, but nothing plays. It even takes a while to get it to stop trying -- sometimes as much as 10 seconds after I hit the menu icon the NX-70 comes back to life.

Sounds like it needs a poke in the rear with your stylus pin. If that doesn't fix it, then it's hard reset time. The only way to fix corrupted RAM.

Tried both the soft reset and hard reset approach, and neither helped at first. But then, I did another hard reset and before restoring via HotSync, I tried AudioPlayer, and it worked. So, it appears some other app I'm running is interfering. Most recent installs I've done are DateBook5 and PowerRun. Any one encountered conflicts with these and AudioPlayer?
