CamSData Question

I move things in and out of Flash ..... and was wondering if anyone here knew what the CamSData file is?

It sits in Internal Ram on my NZ-90 and takes up 453k of space. This seems fairly LARGE to me and don't know what the purpose of it is.

I pulled it up in the ZLauncher File Manager and it has an attribute of Stream selected on it. (Only attribute set on it in fact). I would think... it has something to do with the camera.... but am unsure.

I have a hard time believing it needs 453k to store the camera settings and options.

Could anyone shed some light on this ..... and is there something I can do to lower the amount of memory it takes?

It says, based on file manager it takes 454k, and 113Recs.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

That's for the ClieCamS (camera feature). I don't think it can reside on memory stick.

It has something to do with recent shots taken, I think... I erased it once, just to live dangerously. I lost the previews of the last photo's taken (still existing on stick). It had rebuilt the file when I checked later...

The strange thing... is there are no files on my handheld to have 'preview' s leftover. I've tried to launch the camera..... and then exit it .... but the file stays the same, even though no files show up in the little window down below. I've tried to make sure there was nothing in the Clie Viewer and the Photo Editor ... and the Clie Album.... all are clean as a whistle.... seems like a huge waste of space :(

Yea, I've wondered about it... That's why I tried to delete it. Leave it to Sony to burn precious RAM... Anybody want to be a guinea pig and move it into flash RAM?!!!

I don't think CamSData file keeps track of recent pic previews but it's probably keeper of camera settings. If deleted you probably would have to re configure the cam. i.e pic size, flash intensity etc.

seems a bit 'large' for a few camera settings... 454k????? most applications aren't that large! ... Heck... ZLauncher is only 320k

The Clie Camera has several files already up in ROM:

ClieCameraS - 98K
ClieCameraSSkin - 321K

Is everyone's CamSData 453/454K?

mine is also that size. it only shows up if you use a file manager, it does not show up under the built in delete command. funny.

mine now shows up as 1087mb - what gives??

mine flucuates up to 1000 mb and 500 mb

If you delete it, it will be recreated the next time you run ClieCamS with a initial size of 453K. Doesn't seem to do any harm deleting this file if you don't use the camera rather than let it build up to 1087K.

probaby contains thumbnails or something like that ..... No idea ... but seems awefully 'large' .... Thanks for all the replies :)
