I bought a Transcend 4gb SD card (normal not SDHC and normal speed not 150x). The card works fine in a computer card reader but my TX will not recognize it. When I put it in the TX does nothing (there is a less than a second pause where the system seems to be attempting to read the card), the card does not show up on the application list, card info, or filez. While the card is in the slot the TX will not autoshut down. Does anyone have any idea what needs to be done to fix this problem?

Hi Dukrat,

I bought (what I guess to be) the same exact card as yours (Transcend 4GB, 30X, although no meaningful "production" marking on the back, except "506098 5667").

It came already formatted in FAT32, so I did nothing else than plug it straight into my TX, and it worked like a charm since then.

On a very very few occasions, though, my TX would not recognize the SD card when inserted, and behave like there was no card present. I did not notice the "not autoshut down" you mention, as ejecting and immediately re-inserting the card would make it show up and operate fine.

I'm afraid I cannot help further, sorry.

Ther ehave been numerous reports of transcend 4gb (and other companies) cards not working in the TX. They are all SD not SDHC. It is unclear why, except that above 2gb the standard becomes somewhat fuzzy - so much for standards. It seems, in general, the earlier the card was produced, the more likely it is to work in a TX. My only suggestion is to return the card immediately.

Thank you all for the good advice. I sent it in for a replacement, new one came back, and it works perfectly fine.
