View Full Version : use PEG50T as a phone
Hello there
I'm an owner of a t68i and a BT headset.
I found several threads on this forum about calling somebody with your T50. What I want to do is the opposite.
IF someone calls you, I want to see his/her name on my TG50 and want to decide wether I take te phone up or not. If I do my t68i automaticcly switches to my BT headset.
I found this app on palmgear. VERY USEFUL(http://www.palmgear.com/software/showsoftware.cfm?prodID=48139) But is doesn't work on T50.
This program takes over the t68i on a tungsten phone and give's the TT full phone functionality.
Who knows such a program for the T50?.....
well
if no one else posts some reply, maybe I'll post my own. Today I got an email from the developer of TT Communicator. He told me that after version 1.0 is released, a version for Sony Clie will be made. good news for us.
This means that if you've got a T50 and an phone with bluetooh and a BT headset that you'll never have to use your phone anymore... it's just a communicationcentre.

sounds very great function to have.
Just wondering, draw out the palm or draw out the phone...which is easier..

is HBH-35 the best BT headset? i saw it cheap at ebay. how long does the bat lasts and what type of bat does it use?
The HBH35 indeed is a realy good headset. I''ve had the HBH10 and now the 15. THe quality of both headsets is nice, but my HBH10 fell just one time.... broken... They aren''t strong.
I say draw out the phone.. several reasons:
- the phone produces the (Deadly) GSM wave , palm not, that's just blue tooth.
- it's easier to use the phone as a communication centre, 'than as a palm.
- if you look at the sony Ericsson P800 for example or palm tungsten W, ... they're both just not THAT what people looking for. How many use the P800 as a palm or the Tungsten W as a phone?
Second.. the manufactors. Palm is not to make phones, whereas Sony Ericsson just hasn't the skills to make a good palm.
wel that's what I thought....

That would be useful but hey,I mean one would carry the phone as a phone, and the handheld as a handheld,if the handheld becomes a phone VIA bluetooth, the phone wouldn't be a phone anymore!
That's right.
Lately I spoke with an employee from Sony Ericsson the Netherlands. Het told me that the t68i is not made just to be a phone, but more like a communication centre.
It provides communication with the internet via GPRS, fax/modem, for laptop/palm users with blue tooth. In combination with the BT Headset and Palm it is just a phone connector.
Maybe it sounds a bit to revolutionairy, but this is the future of telephony he told me. Well I believe that's true.
Hope TT communicator will work on the Clie T50 soon,... Maybe I'll write a review about it.
