I've been shopping around for a case for my 760, but doesn't really matter whether it's a hardcase or leather. There doesn't seem to be many choices left for these "old" units though.

So far, I'm looking at the SENA flipcase and the DSI Pocket Armor.
Does anyone run either one and how well can you access the buttons/MS/jog-dial/MP3-socket while it's in the case?

Does anyone have another favorite case and why (and is it still available)?

I have an E&B Slipper for my 760C and I love it! It is a classy looking soft black leather case. It has two memory stick pockets located behind the Clie (little trick to get to) and a clear plastic slot on the inside cover ideal for ID or anything else you want to put in it (I put my calling card there). Best of all it has a magnetic closure device, so no snapping, zipping, or velcroing...just close the lid and it stays closed...a light (but deliberate) pull on the cover and the magnet releases (almost works like a Star Trek Communicator :)p

It has a zipper at the bottom so you can supposedly charge and sync with the case in place. I find it difficult to sync with the case on and usually take my Clie out, however I always charge it with the case on.

Don't know if its available anymore, you would have to contact ebcases.com or check on ebay. Bet if you put a "wanted" in the classifieds someone will have what you are looking for.

Good luck!

They list it as in stock and a sale for just 16.95 through May 31. That's a very good price for a very nice case. I think I paid $35 a year and a half ago. Here's the direct link : http://www.ebcases.com/Detail.bok/c0a80196f52031987599?&category=Sony+Clie+PEG-N710C%2FN760C&start=1&total=9&no=100

I bought one last fall right after I bought a remanufactured 760. I am a big believer in hard cases for my PDA and this one works well. It is slightly larger than the PDA itself; headphone jacks and jog dial remain accessible. You can access memorystick and connect the usb cable while it is in the case. It will NOT fit on the hotsync cradle while in the case.

I am VERY pleased with it.

Lacks: Storage for anything (memory sticks, stylus). Hinge is on the "wrong" side for us left-handers, but I am used to adapting. I prefer side-flip cases to top-flip, anyway.

The Gadgeteer has a review of it here (http://www.the-gadgeteer.com/pocket-armor-palm-cases-review.html). A quick web search suggests you can order it from DSI directly. (http://www.dsi-store.com/cases/show_book.php?isbn=502)

Check out the leather case by Krusell at this Ebay auction :
3023654934 . I have used this case for my N760C for over a year and have been extremely pleased with it's performance, appearance and protection. It has openings for all the buttons and switches, protects the screen with a reinforced lid, slips on and off easily and protects the memory stick from being lost accidently. Many cases that open to the side have no way to protect the stick.

To sit in the hotsync cradle or to use the stowaway keyboard the case must be removed, but I already mentioned how it slides on and off!

Go for it.

Check out the case from Vaja. Its in their outlet store and priced at 50% off (for $42.45 + shipping). See here:

A link to the outlet store is at top of page.

The color may not suit your taste, however.

Thanks for the feedback everyone!

Someone on another board emailed me with an offer of their extra Sena case. It seems Sena has a 2-for-the-price-of-1 clearance on Nxxx cases now.

$30+S/H for one case and they throw in another for free.

oldpdaguy,
I'm a southpaw too, and I'm not sure I'd like the hinge on that side either. My Handspring case for my Neo was hinged the other way and worked pretty slick...I even thought about butchering it to stick my 760 in it, but would've had to use velcro to hold it in (velcro bad :)...just ask my old PIII).

The stock Clie flipcover works okay for me too, except for the fact that it doesn't offer much protection and pops off way to easily. That kinda made me lean toward a flipcase.

ojleblanc,
I've looked at Vaja before for other PDAs, but the pricetags are kinda scary...even on sale! :D (yeah, I'm a cheapskate! LOL)

oldpdaguy's post on the DSI Pocket Armor was right on the money. This case offers great protection and adds very little to the size of the 760. I've tried different cases and this is the one best one I could find.

ebay item # 3025717330 shows the case I bought. It's >$10 it's plastic and mine eventually broke, but at least it wasn't the Clie' that broke. I paid $5 plus shp. I'm gonna buy another one. The first one lasted almost a year, even though I gave it hell, so...

Better then $42, 30, 24 or what ever huh???

well, now that I said that, I am buying one of those aluminum cases on ebay for $15...

:D

I am using the Vaja cases. They are good but I have had manufacturing problems.

1. First unit had the holes in the side slightly off so I couldn't use the wheel. Vaja made another case for me that fixed that.

2. I ordered one with the ultra clip. I wear my Clie all the time and eventually the clip starts to rotate in the leather (not sewn in so that it can't rotate) - this negates the safety feature whereby the Clie has to be rotated horizontally before being unclipped. Vaja replaced it with another but now after a few months the same problem has occurred
