I've downloaded cotoGPS onto my Treo 650 and it works fine but I can't view the data on my PC.

The desktop download doesn't contain the jar files (java) - I think it only contains the source.

Can someone send me a link to the desktop or the actual files?

By the way I've tried emailing the developer - no reply - and the web app at http://www.c1-setcon.de:8080/cotoGPS/start doesn't work

Thanks in advance.

I also use cotoGPS. It's a great tool. Here's the link to the desktop jar file: cotogpsDT (http://core.de/~coto/projects/cotogpsDT/jcotoGPS-0.9.8.jar)

Alternatively you can also use GPS Vizualizer (http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/) (online tool) or GPS Babel ( http://www.gpsbabel.org/index.html) (PC tool) to convert cotoGPS's PDB log file into any other GPS log file format that can be read by Google Earth for instance.

Cheers.

Thanks STBXXL, still couldn't get cotoGPS desktop to work but GPS Babel does the job perfectly.

cotoGPSDT is actually a Java application (hence the .jar file). To get it running you need to install a Java runtime environment. You can get it here: http://java.com/en/download/index.jsp. Once it is installed you only have to double click on the .jar file and it will run. It's actually quite nice too.

Cheers.

I got a reply back from Thomas Runge (the developer). Turns out that good ol' IE was renaming the jar file to a zip file when I was downloading it.

Working fine now but I'm quite happy with GPS Babel although GPS Visualizer is very good too.

By the way, big thanks to Thomas for his hard work in greating this great app. Postcard will shortly be on the way to him (postcardware app).

Sorry for bumping the old thread, but is there any way to get in touch with Thomas? The main domain of the project got taken-over by some domain-parking moron. Thus I don't think his @core.de e-mail works either.
