View Full Version : Centro --> Palm TX DUN... Anyone had any luck yet?

I've done a fair bit of searching on the web, but haven't had any luck. I have a TX and a Centro, and for some tasks, I'd like to be able to connect to the internet on my TX, through my Centro (this was my primary configuration with my TX and an EVDO flip-phone, prior to getting the Centro).

Both devices are technically fully DUN-compatible, but it doesn't seem to do anything...i.e. the TX appears to be connecting, but just hangs at "Signing On".

I'm not sure if this is common thing to do (double-down with two Palm devices...), but I recall people doing it with older versions of the Treo. Hopefully I can do it with the Centro as well.

I use BigClock, which allows you to put four time zones on one page. It's not really a "pup-up" deal, but it's small, and I put an icon for it in the bottom bar of my ZLauncher screen. You could also setup a hard button to launch it.

I'd like to see a clock app that allows you to select a city from a comprehensive list or maybe from a world map...

thx

Not that this will help you, but I wanted to do the same thing with my Treo 650/680 and a Sony Clie TH55 using Bluetooth. Never got it to work.

There's probably a post from me in the TH-series forums. Here it is:

As you can see, no replies....

Jeffhoward, I think it will work flawlessly on a ATT Centro but it will not connect for Sprint.

I've discovered that the problem on GSM can be solved by dialling *99***1# rather than the more usual *99#.

Hope this helps.

I can surf the internet on my TX using my Centro's internet via Verizon by Bluetooth DUN :p ... a mouthful :D

Use USBmodem by Mobile-Stream, When enabled your TX can sign on successfully :)

---- And yes, I am still alive :D

The only way I was able to connect to the internet through DUN between my Centro and T|X was by using Mobile High Speed for Palm OS.
