I've got a fairly new TX and am trying to make 2PlayMe do the following: at a given time, launch the Media (photo) app, and then click the on-screen button for slide show. I.e., run a slide show at a given time.

I know I have to find the ID number of the button. So I've loaded Bird v. 1.09 and have browsed for "Media." Okay, it's not there, so it must be under "Photos-Foto" or "PhotoManager" or "Photos-Foto-enUS" or something. And I can double tap on those things and get info. But with certain taps, I always get a crash and reset.

Namely:

Double tap Photos-Foto-enUS.
Double tap MENUBAR 1100 -- works fine
Double tap MENUBAR 1200 -- works fine
Double tap MENUBAR 1500 -- causes a crash every time.

So, I'm trying to figure out whether this is because of the particular apps I have loaded on my TX, or whether it's inherently a conflict between Bird and the TX.

Does anybody have any experience with Bird, or this crash? Other things cause Bird to crash also, so it's not just this one thing.

Thanks for any help. I've combed the forums and not found anything.

I have no experience with the media app because I use Resco Viewer. TCPMP is also a great free alternative. Back to the question you posed. I have Bird 1.15 from www.ppcompiler.org. I am using the latest version of 2PlayMe and so far I have had no difficulties. I'll test out your scenario and see what happens.

EDIT: I got the same results as you did.

When testing in the simulator it looks like the Media app doesn't use normal buttons. You can not access the slide show button using a button press. Maybe a pen down would work, but 2PlayMe doesn't support it right now.

Well nuts. Thanks cyberdude and MetaView for the info. I'll poke around some other album display programs. And I'll update Bird even if that doesn't fix the problem.

If Bird crashes, please send a BUG report to Phillipe! ( ppcompiler AT free DOT fr ) He'll be sure to have it fixed real quick-like!
