View Full Version : Khroma and Palm Internals conflict

Maybe I'm missing something here. I've been rebuilding my TX from scratch (read Hard Reset). I've been using a number of apps to make sure everything I put on works correctly with the TX. I put Khroma on with its various files and the PI scan caused a soft reset. If I say no to the scan I can get the notifications without a problem. When I remove Khroma, the scan runs perfectly.
I know others are using Khroma (with Apt and Accessorizer, for instance). Did I miss something - is this a known problem, or is my TX just wonky??

I don't know if there is a conflict as I only have the KhromaDB on my TX for accessorizer.
I prefer to use Colorize (www.freewarepalm.com/graphics/colorize.shtml) as it survives a Reset.
I put both on my TX, launched Khroma and chose a theme then went to Colorize and selected Export, went to Memos and named the color scheme.
Launched Khroma and chose a theme ........ etc as above.
Then I used a FileManager to delete Khroma and the KhromaQuickPick?? app leaving just KhromaDB
These color schemes will be implemented by Colorize by Importing from Memos.
I have no issues with Colorize and PalmInternals :)
All the best, woz of oz
I keep Khroma on my card, not in RAM. Never had a problem doing it this way....

Thanks guys. I'll reinstall Khroma to my card and install colorize and see how it works. Do I even need colorize if I just install Khroma and its files then move Khroma to the card?
Depends on how you use it; Colorize will give you persistent themes across soft resets; Khroma won't (you have to re-load it to get your theme back). If you're just using it to generate a KhromaDB for other apps to use, Khroma works just fine.
I seem to recall that I had crashes with Khroma. Now I'm using wozofoz's fabulous Colorize tip (and Apt to have per-app themes!).
But meanwhile, I believe I had solved the crashes by locking Khroma with Resco Locker... I don't remember exactly though.
