I initiated a file transfer from my cellphone to TX. However, I can't find the file in the TX. Where is the default file location of such transfer?

Yep. What kind of file, and what app(s) might you have that will open the file? (When I send pictures from my phone to my Zodiac, they go to /Palm/Programs/AcidImage/Received on the card. Other files might go to other folders depending on what app opens them.)

If the palm doesn't recognize the file then it will not save the file. Most times when I transfer files (usually images), it asks where I would like to store it.

It's a video file with .3gp extension. I don't need to open the video on TX. Is there any way to add extension support to TX?
There are a number of (free) apps that let you set a default location. Try GetDeBlue (http://www.freewarepalm.com/communication/getdeblu.shtml).
Also, if you have TCPMP or Kinoma Player installed, they'll automatically handle .3gp. Resco Explorer can also let you set where the files will be saved.

I personally use ReceiveIt. It is not freeware, but it recognised every file I have sent to my Palm. :)

I watch .3g2 cell phone vids on my TX, all you need is the TCPMP and the right plugin, it should work for 3gp also.
Ive used the new RescoExplorer 2008 to just access card on my cellphone using its bluetoothFTP feature, its very effective :D
