You know what I can not find for a game on either the Pocket PC or Palm OS.

Is a "Advanced Wars" Game Boy Advanced like game. Very simple turn based stratigy game. All the games out there are too complicated in my mind spoiling the game.

Any suggestions?

If nothing else, you can play the plethora of such titles for GB/GBC/NES/SNES on LJP. There's a gundam version for SNES that I really like to play.

Zork and Adventure can be played via some other text game interpreters (a bit of a pain playing them on a PDA though). Then there's ScummVM for all your LucasArts/Sierra/etc. games :)

The ones I've seen for zork include manu shortcuts, or you use the nav rocker to move the player, and you can also sometimes set up the hard buttons for things (actions.) The only time you need to spell anything is for specific items.

z machine... that's what the interpreter is called!

Anybody know where you can actually download the .pdb or z-files for zork, adventure, or hitchhikers guide?

thx

Those games are still under copyright, unfortunately.

You want crimson fields:

http://crimson.seul.org/download.php

You can even load the Battle Isle maps from the PC version.

(Battle Isle was a pre-cursor to the Advance Wars type of game)

(Of course Military Madness was a pre-cursor to Battle Isle)

Advance Wars is basically just Famicom Wars/Gameboy Wars revisited. Gameboy Wars was first released in the US in 1991; Famicom Wars was first released in Japan in 1988. Both can be played via emulation on PalmOS :)

Here's the complete series:

1988 Famicom Wars Famicom
1990 Game Boy Wars Game Boy
1997 Game Boy Wars Turbo Game Boy
1998 Game Boy Wars 2 Game Boy/Game Boy Color
1998 Super Famicom Wars Super Famicom
2001 Game Boy Wars 3 Game Boy Color
2001 Advance Wars Game Boy Advance
2003 Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising Game Boy Advance
2005 Advance Wars: Dual Strike DS
2005 Battalion Wars GameCube
2007 Battalion Wars 2 Wii
2008 Advance Wars: Days of Ruin DS

Iron Strategy is freeware for pOS. Farcry from Advance Wars, but at least the mechanics are the same

2008 Advance Wars: Days of Ruin DS

If you get the appropriate emu to run on your pOS device, you can emulate the above game of your choice. GBA is probably a crapshoot at this point, but the GB, GBC, NES, and SNES may work provided you find a copy of those games somewhere. Keep in mind Famicom and Super Famicom are just Japan's version of Nintendo Entertainment System and Super Nintendo Entertainment System respectively.
