View Full Version : Serious problem – needing help

My zodiac was working perfectly until a few days ago. Inexplicably the digitized lost precision (calibrating was useless) – soft resetting was more than enough to solve the issue. As it became more and more frequent imprecise tapping (after just a few minutes of use) I hard reset the unit. This solved the issue for a few hours.

Again the unit had digitizer issues – I had to tap almost 5 mm above the icon – I tried to calibrate, soft reset, and nothing. So, I hard reset the unit again.

Well … It is impossible to calibraye the unit after the hard reset – tapping on the X results in nothing – it cycles over and over again. Soft resetting without calibrating takes me to a situation where I cannot navigate with taps or any of the buttons or commands.

Any ideas … or … gasp … the zodiac is dead?

Thank you very VERY much for any help

Ack! :(

I was going to suggest e-mailing Jim at Olympic Systems - They were the outsourced repair company for Zods - But their domain seems to have been hijacked :(

Anyone know how to contact them now?

Perhaps this app from Dmitry might be of help:

http://www.palmpowerups.com/readarticle.php?article_id=5

PowerDiGi (http://www.palmpowerups.com/downloads.php?cat_id=1&download_id=7)

I use digie from sdcard. It's freeware.

Perhaps this can help you.

Here. (http://www.tapland.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=10491)

will try zaoin, thanks

right now I am trying a suggestion from another board - let all the power drain out - in some units it apparently fixed the problem

I will keep the board posted

You could also take out the battery if you can open it up...

I managed to launch digie - but the appl was not able to calibrate the unit; I also launched powerdigi but could not make it calibrate the unit; removing the battery or exhausting it did not work either. I looked at the connections (as indicated by zaoin). It all looks "normal".

At this point I am looking for another Zodiac 2

... this one? resquiecat in pace

Thank you to all that tried to help me
