OK, I went through the entire postings on the TG forum about the TG MMFlash Player working on the NX series.
Some people were successful and some weren't.
I tried the methods listed there about renaming the MMFlashlib.prc to MMFlashlib2.prc and using the MCFILE Beta 2.2.1 to move that file from the MS to RAM, but for the life of me I can't get MCFILE to move that file.
So, can someone please post the procedure they used to get this to work and whether it has affected any other "builtin" apps as a result of putting the TG's MMFlash file(s) into the NX's RAM?
TIA for your response as I would REALLY like to have sound with the flash player.
The only thing you have to do is copy the new MMFlashLib file into RAM. Don't even rename it. You don't even have to copy over the new Flash Player file. The old one will work just fine with the new MMFlashLib. The only difference is the new Flash Player has a volume slider on it. That's all I did on my NX. I used MCFile 2.2 Beta 1 to move the files.

Yea I didn't even have to rename it either. Just had it on the MS and select->Copy->to palm. No errors. Fired up flash player and there it was, singing cows in all their glory (just a simple MP3 enabled flash file I use for testing)
I did the same as Ganz, and it works fine for me too.
Funny thing - just after I replied, I decided to move the wl100 drivers to flash. JackFlash told me I had to do a reset after updating. I clicked on OK - little did I know, it did a hard reset. So I ran a restore from CardBackup, but it couldn't restore MMFlashLib. So I simply used McFile to copy a backup that I had on my MemStick to ram. It worked fine.
Btw, this is the second time that CardBackup has failed to do a complete restore. I normally use MSBackup 1-2 times a week, and had been testing BackupMan and CardBackup. I had to do a complete restore about 2 weeks ago. BackupMan and MSBackup worked fine - CardBackup failed. My BackupMan trial expired, so I purchased a license yesterday. Unfortunately, since my last backup from BackupMan was 5/10, I used the one I did this morning with CardBackup.

DOH!!!! I feel like such an idiot :(
I thought I had installed McFile 2.2.1 beta, but it turns out I had installed 2.11
Anyways, once I installed 2.2.1 beta I was able to copy just the MMFlashlib.prc without renaming it and it worked fine.
Thanks to those above that responded and set me straight,
I appreciate it very much.
Off to download more flash files with SOUND!!:D

Did you install the system update patch from Sony support? It fixed an issue with the Clie going into a hard reset without warning. It fixed a certain power issue with the MS.
Yes, Larry, I had all the patches installed except for the ClieFiles update. Fortunately for me, the restore was relatively painless. Like you, I believe you can never have enough backups - I have backups on the Memstick, CF, computer hard drive, at the office...
My motto: when in doubt, backup again!

With backups floating around in so many places do you encrypt them?
With backups floating around in so many places do you encrypt them?
Not the backups themselves, but any sensitive databases within them are.
