I have posted trying to get my Sony Clie to run in Vista. It was suggested to put the directory on C. I have done that. It was suggested to run in WinXP mode as Administrator. I have done that. I have installed and re-installed the Palm Desktop several times. the setup never asks me to HotSync the device. I plug in the handheld and Vista does not say there is a new device. I have tried manual and it says the driver is not compatible with Win32.

Has anyone installed the Palm Desktop in Vista and is using a Sony Clie TJ27?

I would really like so help if there is any out there. when ones says it is a "driver" problem, that really does not help as to how to resolve it.

Thanks,

Sister

IIRC, the new Palm Desktop does not work with Sony Clie devices: it is rather restricted to the newer Palm handhelds such as Treos and Tungstens.

Sorry I can't be of much help, but I thought I'd just throw out that tidbit of information, so at least you know might be causing the problems!

Thanks for the heads up. I have tried the Pam Desktop for Vista but as you say it is for the newer smart phones. I really think it is a driver problem. I will try and see if I can fix the driver that came with the Vista. Perhaps it is corrupted. When I plug in the device you do not hear anything nor see that it is loading. Others seem to have found a work around so it must e possible.
Thanks again

Sister

I finally found the Device Manager and saw that there was a yellow flag. I think the driver was corrupt. I reinstalled and bingo! Thank you all for your help. It is so nice to be able to tap into a wealth of knowledge!

God bless,
Sister :)
