I have discovered a small bump, or, pinch rather to the top-left of the power button (If you put the clie horizontally) while it doesn't hinder my use of the Clie, it looks ugly, and unnatural yet I have no memory of creating this bump. Is this something normal, or rather, just mishandling which I hadn't noticed?

hey whadda you know, another minor TG50 defect.
I have gone through 3 TG50s, one for me, one for my sister, one for my father, all have the same problems:
-gray circumference panel around keyboard and screen is really lose, can wobble from side to side (must be glued down with superglue)
-If you look at the top of the plastic part, where you can see the memory stick and bluetooth light, the plastic is not held together at the left side, there is a small gap open
- If you turn your clie around, the white plastic part on top is not secured into the CLIE body, I am using clear tape to tape it down.
Bad sony! Bad quality control! My 2 month old TG50 is being held together with superglue and clear tape. Now it has a "bump" near the power button. What gives!?

Well my charge and record lights still don't work. I will eventually send it back, I just hate to part with it for that long.

Damn, sorry I pointed that out to you yoyo, if its any consolation, i've got the loose white plastic bit as well, but, that seems to be a generic flaw. Haha. I dont mean to be some kind of perfectionist, but, i've also found a faint scratch on my screen that isn't visible normally, but reveals itself after you moisten the screen by smogging it up (Breathe on it) there is a short diagonal line in the middle that goes from the top left corner to the bottom right. Its around 4 mm, and its peculiar because it only revelas itself if you breathe on the screen (Sorry if thats a little vague) its like a phantom scratch. When I run the stylus over it, it doesn't seperate or anything, it isn't cut, but, man, its a wierd scratch.

Is it possible to tighten the prongs on the cover of the TG50 or something? so that the cover doesn't wobble?

I'm sorry guys, but I have no idea what you are talking about with the defects.. I checked all the points that have been brought up in this thread and none of them are a problem on my Clie. I bought my TG50 about a week after they were released, and I have none of the problems you guys are talking about. Are you absolutely sure they are not caused by misuse? Either that or the later ones are not as good quality as mine is.

The former is probably a more likely explanation, it can't be just coincidence that all of us misused our Clie's to the point where all the defects listed appeared in the same places. besides, I haven't misused my Clie at all, I constantly clean it, and I hold it out instead of putting it in my pocket, furthermore, I keep it in this holding case which is quite 'puffy' if that makes sense?

Yeah, you're probably right there, although I can't see why the quality would go down so dramatically. Possibly it might be caused from what factory they were assembled at. Just how many plants does Sony have anyway?
