Hey gang,
Need some help here! For some reason, all of a sudden, I am no longer permitted to download software to my Clie NX70... when I download a file, and click on the .prc file in WinZip, nothing is extracting... the .prc files not longer appear to have the palm icon next to them, but now have some other icon... an error message stating "the path c:\documentsandsettings\jsb\localsettings\temporaryinternetfiles\content.ie5 does not exist"

what is going on here?

I did a system clean up recently... did i delete something I shouldn't have... any help is appreciated.. thanks

any lengthy email can be sent via private message... thanks in advance for any help

:( :(

Every once in awhile I get that too. If it's all the time, then I would try reinstalling the Palm Desktop to recreate the file association in the registry. You shouldn't lose any data, but I would copy the sub-folders just in case.

The Winzip file issue of not finding the downloaded file, may also be registry issue. I have had to search for the missing file on occaision.

From your description of the problem, it appears the .prc extension is no longer associated with the Palm Install Tool.

From any folder on the Desktop, go to the Tools menu and select the Folder Options menu item.  Click the File Types tab, scroll through the list of file extensions and select the prc extension.  The lower half of the display will show what application the PC thinks should be used to open the prc files.  Use the change button to re-associate the prc extension with the Palm Install Tool.

If the prc extension cannot be found on the list, use the New button to add the prc extension to the list.

Hope this helps.
