who out there uses it? i do, and it is a great format. superior in sound quality to mp3. i have a netMD recorder as well, so all of my music was already converted to ATRAC3 for that. i encode at the middle quality, 105kbs and it sounds, on good headphones, nearly identical to the cd. in the car or on smaller headphones, there is no difference in sound quality. i bought a 128 magicgate stick for music and it can hold about 2 hours or so of music. there really is no need to encode at a higher bit rate, to that point mp3's are wasted on the tg50 at high quality encodes. the headphone jack is so noisy. in the car or walking around with headphones on is fine, but in a quieter setting you can hear each time the memory stick is accessed. the fact that the memory stick pro wont support ATRAC3 is kind of a pisser, but toshiba has unveiled a 5 gig BT hard drive, which hopefully will be available by the end of the year.
