Recently I have purchased a wireless FM linker to plug into the stereophone port on my NX70v and listen to my clie on my car radio. (called the audiaX)
http://www.mp3playerstore.com/buy_it_now__/audiaX.htm
Now that I have a 1 GB CF card and have almost 300 MB dedicated to just music ( about 80 mp3s so far), I never have to get bored listening to the same songs on the radio station ever again!
I bought mine online, however it uses only 2 AAA batteries with a battery life of about 40 hours. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with any other radio linkers that may be able to be plugged into the car lighter?
I use a plain-old-fashion audio-cassette type adapter. One side looks just like a standard audio-tape, except it has a wire with the appropriate connector at the other end to connect any device with a standard head-phone style jack. :) I forget the technical name for the plug. :)

used to radio transmitter before but the sound quality was terrible. a lot of interference and background buzz noise. switched to the cassette adapter and it works great. however, I guess people without cassette players are stuck with the radio solution.

I use an iRock! which is similar to the original poster. However, it is kinda static-y at times but hey, what you gon do

Fortuantly my stereo has a mini-jack input, so I just have to run a 3.5mm cable out of the headphone jack and into the 3.5mm jack on the stereo. Offers really good sound without the interference of FM transmitters and without the shallow bass of the cassette adapters. Might be something to look for when buying a car stereo.
I'm interested in the AudiaX. RipDogger, what disadvantages have you experienced so far?
I used to use an iRock but it's "static-y" too especially when I pass by high tension wires.

So far the music quality has been good.
My main concern is for the limited battery life (40 hours on 2 AAA) and no car lighter adapter.
Thanks. I just might order it :)

The FM transmitter I use is a little less high tech but you still might want take a look and see if it meets your needs. It does everything I need it to do. Here is a link: http://www.evngeo.com :)

I have used the iRock! also, and though the concept is excellent, I experienced a lot of interference in the Chicago area. My other main complaint was with the design of the on-off button. It was so big and easily pushed that it wasn't poscketable because it would always turn on draining the battery. I switched to a wired cassette adapter, and it works like a charm. I just make sure to use the Hold button which extends the battery. I am considering getting a car power adapter, so that should make the entire setup almost unlimited in use.

My Aiwa deck has ths line in input on the front also. It is a very handy thing to have on a car stereo.
Nothing beats letting m passengers watch movies on trips. :D

Soundfeeder SF100 uses 12v input and can power a cd player, however the audio jumper is only 6" so you might want to purchase an extension cable.
I use the Soundfeeder 120 and it requires batteries too, I just got a voltage converter and hardwired it to the contacts on the inside via a small hole I drilled. That seems the easiest choice for you.
(I keep waiting for that vaporware clie car cradle to materialize...)

Don't get too excited. The press release says "For use with select, future CLIÉ handhelds the car cradle offers such enhanced features as text-to-voice applications, a global positioning system (GPS), and an audio player. It also features Rand McNally StreetFinder® C3 travel navigation software, which helps users obtain directions."
It is priced at $300 and isn't even available until the end of the year.
