I need help. After downloading and Hot Sycn'g a couple of game demo versions, my N760C crashed. I receive the following message:
MemoMain.c,Line:489,
can't register
with a soft reset. If I push this reset or the reset on back, it just brings up the same screen. The same thing happens if I try to hard reset. I let the battery run down, recharged, and the I get the same results.
I'm not a complete novice, but I'm admittedly not the most sophisticated user, so any help would be appreciated.

Strange. Hard reset should take care the problem since it will bring the OS back to the original blank RAM setting.

Just for my curiousity, when you did a hard reset (by holding down the power button while you poked the hole in the back and released the power button when the Palm logo showed up on the screen), did you see the word 'Erase all data Press up' or something like that, and then you pressed up button?

Warm reset may put Clie in 'Safe Mode' so to speak where you can go through the Clie file manager and blow away the culprit apps.

Tanker Bob write a primer on various resets here (http://www.tankerbob.com/palm/) if that would help you some more.

Good luck.

DanT,
Thanks. Like I said, I'm not the most sophisticated user and the subtle directions in your reply allowed me to hard reset effectively. Problem solved, I think. Thanks again.

You could try e-mailing Sony or drop by a service center
