Okay, so you successfully replaced your MD with a CF. What do you do with your old MD (and the fancy blue corner shock absorbers)?
and...um... Dmitry's solution is not an option: ;)

i put my old md in a case and it reside neatly in my sock drawer. and you need to keep the blue shock absorbers to keep the cf card stable and not touching anything internally.

I reformatted mine as a DOS drive, and use it in a card reader as a storage device for music.

Mine's just in a drawer, as a backup... but since it's been more than a year already, I suppose it's time to use it for something else. :P

Especially since I tried tossing mine back in to the Life(case) as part of trying to get it working, and it didn't start properly after being in a drawer for a year...

I have an HP multi-function machine that has various card readers built-in. When I put the microdrive in the CF reader, it gave an error. I was hoping to reformat it and leave it as a drive in the printer.
I guess I will need a separate card reader. 4 Gig can come in handy.
Maybe I can get PortableApps working on it.

You should be able to reformat it and use it. I'm using mine as storage for mp3s.
