There are several utilties to send something to one's Palm (TX in this case) without using Hotsync. Anyone care to comment on which is best / has the fewest issues? I'm a bit paranoid about what apps I install - I don't care to chase "mysterious" problems which pop up from incompatible apps.

I'm aware of
CardExport CardReader PilotInstall (I don't know if this allows sync to SD card tho)
I'd prefer freeware for this as it's a pretty simple function.

PilotInstall is free and can sync to ram or card. I use it to install alll my apps. What is even better is that it sends a hotsync signal so that apps like Uninstall manager see the installation and track it. I use CardReader for everything else. The best part of cardreader is that it can work in the background and can be set to automatically connect on startup.

I have a card reader, but I only use that when I want to move really large files (over 25mb) or when I periodically reformat my card.
